An Assembled Federal Six-Piece Silver Tea And Coffee Service
John Sayre (1771-1852), Southampton Or New York, New York, Circa 1795-1800
comprising a coffeepot, a teapot, two covered sugar dishes, a creamer, and a teapot stand, the teapot, a covered sugar dish, and creamer all bearing monogram, "SAJ"; the other covered sugar dish with pineapple-form finial, and teapot stand both bearing monogram, "MMTW", the coffeepot bearing monogram, "S"; all marked.

Condition
with some occasional persistent tarnish commensurate with age; coffeepot: wood handle possibly later ebonized, with two divots to upper part, with some minor dings or scratches to body, mild rubbing, spout with very subtle bend to underside; teapot: a few minor dings or shallow dents, including to body and base of spout, top of wood handle with age crack; covered sugar dish (not pineapple finial): with a couple minor dings to body; creamer: small solder repair along base and to lower handle terminal (most visible inside), a minor dent beneath monogram on one side; covered sugar dish (with pineapple finial): body with some dings and light scratches commensurate with age and honest use, some occasional dark spots of persistent tarnish / oxidation to lid; teapot stand: light scratches commensurate with age and honest use
